Weekend Roundup - Saturday 24 October 2026
20 of us out across 10 parkruns, with Stephen Crowe's 250th parkrun, top-3 finishes for Paula Crosland and Kate Myers, and new venues from Pontypool to Whitby.
π Parkrun
What a Saturday! 20 of us were out across 10 parkruns, with a 250th parkrun, two top-3 finishes and a few new venues ticked off from Wales to the North Yorkshire coast.
Bolton
Kate Myers had a brilliant morning at Bolton, finishing 3rd female overall and top of her age category too. A fantastic run π
Chadderton Hall
Aaron Stones headed to Chadderton Hall and ran strongly on a lovely morning out at the park.
Clarence
5 of us at Clarence, with John Bradford leading the way for the group and finishing top of his age category. Paula Crosland had a superb run to finish 2nd female overall, with her son Harry there with her too. The big news though is Stephen Crowe, who completed his 250th parkrun! A huge landmark and a real testament to all those Saturday mornings. Many congratulations Stephen π Derek and Fiona Case finished close together to round off a great morning for the group.
Halifax
Alison and Andrew Whitehead made the trip over to Halifax for the first time, always good to see them adding another new venue to the collection.
Heaton
5 of us in the big Heaton field, with Chris Chris first of the group home. Paul Cox was back out at Heaton a week on from the Abingdon Marathon, crossing the line side by side with Paul Jenkinson. Dale Richards and Ros Dines both had a fine morning in the park too.
Kingsway Park, Urmston
Kath Biddle was in great form at Kingsway Park, finishing top of her age category. A lovely result.
Peel
Tracy Wroe took on the course at Peel and had a great outing at one of her regular haunts.
Pontypool
Julie Smith headed to Wales for her first visit to Pontypool, a course run entirely on tarmac paths through Pontypool Park in Torfaen. She marked the occasion by finishing top of her age category. What a way to tick off a new venue!
The Cinder Track, Whitby
Jacqui Warden made the trip to The Cinder Track in Whitby for the first time, an all-trail course starting from Whitby School. A proper bit of parkrun tourism.
Wythenshawe
Michael and Laura Aiken both had their first go at Wythenshawe. Michael ran brilliantly to finish top of his age category, while Laura ran round with their son Owen.
A 250th parkrun, a lovely set of age category wins and new venues from Pontypool to Whitby. What a Saturday for the group! ππββοΈπββοΈ
