Weekend Roundup - Saturday 10 October 2026

26 of us out across 10 parkruns, with Aaron Stones' 50th parkrun, Michael Aiken 2nd man at Clarence, and a first visit to Bushy, where parkrun began, for Dale Richards.

πŸƒ Parkrun

What a Saturday! 26 of us were out across 10 venues, from a forest in the Lake District all the way down to the park where parkrun first began. πŸ’œ

Bushy

Dale Richards made the trip down to Bushy Park in Teddington, where parkrun was born back in 2004, and ran at the event that started it all for the first time. The course loops the park on a mix of grass and paths, and Dale had a brilliant morning there.

Chadderton Hall

Kath Biddle put in a strong run at Chadderton Hall, keeping the legs turning nicely after last weekend's Cardiff Half.

Clarence

Michael Aiken led the way for the group in real style, finishing 2nd man overall and top of his age category. Paula Crosland ran strongly as ever, and Chris Mihalyi had a fine morning on the course, crossing the line right alongside Laura and Owen Aiken, with Owen taking a new PB. πŸ‘ Gerard Tucker represented the group well, and Stephen Crowe enjoyed a lovely parkwalk at his regular Saturday home, making it a really good turnout.

Cliffe Castle

Angela Pradena headed over to Keighley for her first visit to Cliffe Castle Park and enjoyed a lovely parkwalk around the park's paths.

Ellesmere Port

Alison and Andrew Whitehead made their first visit to Ellesmere Port, taking on a mix of grass, tarmac and trail paths in Whitby Park, and Alison finished top of her age category.

Heaton

A big celebration at Heaton, where Aaron Stones ran his 50th parkrun! That's nearly a year's worth of Saturday mornings, and a brilliant landmark. πŸŽ‰ John Bradford and Jamie Dobson led the way for the group, crossing the line just a second apart. Laura Tomkins was in great form, Cheryl Stewardson ran brilliantly and Paul Cox put in a solid effort. Paul Jenkinson, Chris Grayshon and Steve Sweeney all had a fine morning on the course too.

Peel

Chris Chris was first of the group home at Peel, with Paul Heathcote and Rachael Fiske both having a great outing on the course.

Pennington Flash

Rachel Bailey headed over to Pennington Flash and put in a really good run.

Whinlatter Forest

Julie Smith went up into the Lake District for her first run at Whinlatter Forest, an all-trail course through Whinlatter Forest Park near Keswick, which is about as scenic a Saturday as you can get.

Wythenshawe

Derek and Fiona Case both had a good morning out at Wythenshawe.

From the forest trails of the Lakes to the birthplace of parkrun, and plenty of familiar favourites in between, it was a cracking weekend for the group. Well done everyone! πŸ’œπŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ
