Weekend Roundup - Saturday 12 September 2026
23 of us out across 8 parkruns, from Heaton Park to the North Wales coast, with course bests for Michael Aiken, Paula Crosland and Julie Smith.
π Parkrun
A lovely spread this week, with 23 of us out across 8 different parkruns, from Heaton Park to the North Wales coast. π
Bolton
Josh Young and Anna Swailes both had a good morning at Bolton, taking on the loops of Leverhulme Park together in spirit if not side by side.
Clarence
Michael Aiken was first of the group over the line at Clarence, finishing 2nd overall and taking a course best into the bargain. Paula Crosland also came away with a course best, and she had good company on the day in her son Harry, who was out there with her. Stephen Crowe was in good form as ever, and Gerard Tucker rounded off a strong morning for us at Clarence.
Conwy
Tracy Wroe was the furthest from home this week, out at Conwy, where the course winds through the RSPB reserve at Llandudno Junction on tarmac and gravel beside the lagoons, with the castle and the mountains filling the view. A glorious place to spend a Saturday morning.
Ellesmere Port
Delphine Bugarel headed to Whitby Park for Ellesmere Port, a mixed course of grass, tarmac and trail paths, and put in a really solid run.
Fletcher Moss
Dale Richards made the trip over to Didsbury for Fletcher Moss and ran strongly through the gardens and the meadows.
Heaton
Our biggest gathering of the week, with 12 of us at Heaton Park. Jamie Dobson led the way for the group, with Aaron Stones and Laura Tomkins not far behind, and Laura finished 2nd in her age category. Mark Taylor and Paul Cox both had fine mornings, as did Paul Jenkinson and Cheryl Stewardson. Paul Heathcote and Jacqui Warden kept things ticking along nicely, and Chris Grayshon enjoyed the run round. John Bradford folded the parkrun into a half marathon long run, which is a lovely way to make the miles pass. Angela Pradena had a lovely parkwalk to finish off the group's morning.
Kingsway Park, Urmston
Rachael Fiske was out at Kingsway Park and put in a good, steady run.
Wythenshawe
Julie Smith took on Wythenshawe and came away with a course best, a brilliant way to start the weekend.
From the North Wales coast to Whitby Park, and plenty of course bests along the way, that is a weekend to be proud of. Whatever you have got planned for next Saturday, we hope it is a good one. ππββοΈπββοΈ
