Weekend Roundup - Saturday 25 July 2026
20 members across 9 parkrun venues, plus a 7-strong trail adventure on the GM Ringway.
🏃 Parkrun
Another great weekend of running for the group! 20 of us were out on parkrun courses across 9 venues on Saturday, and a group of 7 took on a proper trail adventure together too.
Alexandra (Moss Side)
Mark Kirschstein flew the flag solo, putting in a strong run around the course.
Clarence
Christopher Mihalyi was first back for the group, with Stephen Crowe, Rachel Bailey and Andrew Button all putting in great efforts alongside him.
Conwy
Paul Stevens made the trip out to this North Wales course, a flat and scenic route looping around the lagoons of the RSPB nature reserve on the banks of the Conwy estuary, with views across to Conwy Castle and the mountains beyond.
Heaton
Andrew Whitehead was first back for the group and capped a strong morning by finishing 2nd in his age category. Nick Coleman, Chris Chris, Paul Jenkinson and Chris Grayshon all put in solid efforts too. Fiona Case, Helen Naisbitt and Alison Whitehead enjoyed a lovely parkwalk together.
Kingsway Park, Urmston
Julie Smith and Tracy Wroe both made the trip, with Tracy capping her morning off with a course PB.
Newborough Forest
Michael Aiken travelled the furthest of anyone this week, out to this beautiful Anglesey course, with woodland trails winding through the forest close to the dunes and beach at Llanddwyn.
Pontefract
Mark Taylor headed over to Pontefract, putting in a great run on a distinctive course that loops around the park's boating lake and takes in a lap of the inside of Pontefract's horse racing track.
Sale Water
Martyn James headed out and ran strongly around the course.
Wetherby
Angela Pradena took on the course this week, enjoying a parkwalk.
🏕️ Trail / Social
GM Ringway Trail, Stage 12
Delphine Bugarel, Clive Koffman, Neil Naisbitt, Kath Biddle, Laura Tomkins, Aaron Stones and Paul Cox took on this 13-mile stretch from Norden to Bury. The route climbs past the chain of reservoirs in the Naden valley and over Knowl Hill, where the wind farm offers panoramic views stretching all the way to Snowdonia on a clear day, before dropping down through the atmospheric Deeply Vale with its waterfalls and industrial remains, and the pretty village of Birtle with its cottages, church and two pubs. The group finished up at Burrs Country Park, with its riverside paths, sculptures and passing steam trains.
