Weekend Roundup - Saturday 4 July 2026
Milestones for Kate Myers and Josh Young at parkrun, plus Endure24 Leeds, Tittesworth Water and the Lyme Half Marathon.
🏃 Parkrun
Another varied Saturday for the group, with 24 runners and walkers spread across 13 different parkruns from the Essex coast to the Scottish lowlands.
Centre Vale
Tracy Wroe headed over to Centre Vale parkrun in Todmorden and had a fine morning on the course.
Chadderton Hall
Julie Smith enjoyed a lovely parkwalk at Chadderton Hall.
Chalkwell Beach
Josh Young made the trip down to the Essex coast for Chalkwell Beach parkrun, a flat out-and-back along the sea wall towards the pier near Southend, and marked the occasion perfectly by clocking up his 100th parkrun. A brilliant milestone!
Clarence
John Bradford was first back for the group and came away with a course PB, a great way to spend a Saturday morning. Stephen Crowe was back on his regular local patch, and Lucie Tighe was out on the course with daughter Gracie by her side.
Fleetwood Promenade
Andrew and Alison Whitehead made the trip over to Fleetwood Promenade for their first visit to the course, with Andrew topping his age category on the day. Brilliant stuff.
Heaton
A strong turnout for the group's home parkrun. Kate Myers led the way and had a morning to remember, chalking up her 50th parkrun and a personal best in the very same run, huge congratulations. Dale Richards ran strongly behind her, with Paul Heathcote, Andrew Button, Paul Jenkinson and Chris Grayshon all putting in good efforts on a busy morning at the park.
Newborough Forest
Michael Aiken made the journey out to Newborough Forest parkrun on Anglesey, a beautiful lapped route through sand, forest trails and fire roads alongside the beach with Llanddwyn Island in view throughout, and had an excellent run there.
Oldham
Rachael Fiske was out at Oldham and put in a solid effort on the course.
Peel
It was a shared morning at Peel for Aaron Stones and Laura Tomkins, running together for much of the course, with Laura capping things off in style: a personal best and 2nd in her age category. Great to see Chris Chris back out running again too.
Plean
Christopher Kinsey headed north of the border for a parkrun at Plean, near Stirling in Scotland, a beautiful, undulating course of track, trail and tarmac winding through the woodland and former grand drives of the old Plean House estate. He had a great outing there.
Sale Water
Martyn James was out at Sale Water and had a steady morning on the course.
Warrington
Derek and Fiona Case made the trip over to Warrington parkrun together.
Widnes
Paul Cox headed to Widnes parkrun and ran well on the course.

Saturday 4 July
Endure24 Leeds
Kath Biddle took on Endure24 Leeds, the UK's popular 24-hour trail relay through the forest and heathland of Bramham Park, where runners keep looping an 8k course for as long as they can manage. Over the full 24 hours, Kath covered an incredible 85 miles. A phenomenal effort.
Sunday 5 July
Tittesworth Water 22k
Delphine Bugarel, Clive Koffman and Neil Naisbitt took on the 22k route at Tittesworth Water, out from the reservoir and up onto Hen Cloud and The Roaches in the southern Peak District, with sweeping moorland views the reward for the climbing. A great trio effort.
Lyme Half Marathon
Christopher Mihalyi tackled the Lyme Half Marathon, a scenic National Trust route out of Lyme Hall taking in the Gritstone Trail, Kerridge Ridge and the famous White Nancy landmark. Another great weekend out on the trails.
